3 Essential Ingredients
One ingredient that I always have on hand is a high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil and I use it to drizzle over raw or cooked food before serving. I love the taste of Frantoia which I usually find in Whole Foods or other specialty food stores. If you are having a hard time locating, I would recommend trying California Olive Ranch.
The second ingredient is Flaky Sea Salt, which is a finishing salt (not to be confused with Kosher or regular sea salt). I have a small dish of Maldon Sea Salt on the table at every meal and use just a pinch to season food right before serving. It has a clean, wonderful salty taste and adds a little crunch to the dish.
The third ingredient, or rather ingredients, are acids like lemon juice, lime juice, red wine vinegar and champagne vinegar to give a zing to dishes that would otherwise seem ordinary. Just a little goes a long way.
